Curling in Souris, PEI
A small club with good ice and one great night a week: Tuesday, at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex. Whether you've curled for forty years or never thrown a stone, there's a spot for you.
Learn to curl
Four Tuesday sessions at 7:30 PM, starting November 3. You'll learn how to throw, how to sweep, and how the game works, with club members on the ice alongside you.
Sign up online, then pay the $40 in person at your first session. Join for the season afterwards and it comes off your membership.
Missed learn to curl?
Tell us you're interested and we'll let you know about the next session. If enough people sign up, we'll run another one this winter. Learn to curl is $40, paid in person at the first session, and it comes off your membership if you join.
Or come try a Tuesday. Let us know which night you're coming and a member will show you the basics.
Your weekly night on the ice
It's as much a social night as a curling one. We don't have set teams, so you never need one to join. You'll curl with different people each week. Stick curlers are welcome at both draws, playing right alongside everyone else.
- Draw times
- 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM every Tuesday
- Season starts
- Tuesday, November 3
- No curling
- Tuesday, February 16, so everyone can watch the Scotties in Charlottetown.
- Season membership
- $260 all-in: $227 for the club plus $33 in Curl PEI and Curling Canada fees.
- Drop in
- $15 a night, cash only, paid at the club.
Drop-in fees don't include Curl PEI and Curling Canada fees, so there's no insurance coverage from the club. You'll sign a liability waiver when you arrive.
What to expect on a Tuesday
- Arrive about 15 minutes before your draw to pick your poker chip. There are no set teams: the front shows your position (1 is lead, 2 is second, 3 is vice, 4 is skip), and the number on the back is your team for the night.
- First time? Tell whoever's running the chip draw, and a member will show you the basics.
- Games are six ends.
- If a Tuesday is cancelled, we'll send an email and post on Facebook.
- After the game, join us in the Acorn Room. The winning team buys the first round.
